Modern Line Dance

 

Modern Line dance in Germany is mainly danced to Country and Western music but not only. Modern Line Dance is open to all types of musical styles, from rock'n'roll to swing.

 

The term line dance refers to the formation that is danced in - rows and lines. Dancing in groups, Unlike many other forms of dancing, line dancers dance  individually, without a partner, to a set choreography (steps). 

 

Dancing is done to Modern American rhythms, e.g. Cha Cha, Polka, Slow Waltz, Samba. Other, less well known,  rhythms in Germany are East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Two Step and Nightclub Two Step.

 

A very broad spectrum of music is danced to, actual international chart hits, classics and of course, country music too. 

 

For each dance there is a specific sequence of steps (choreography), which must be first learned. Dances do not only have their steps, but also apply specific rhythms and motions of the respective  music.


Anyone can do it .......

  • no matter what age you are, if you have fun and enjoy dancing and moving to music, this is for you. 

  • Gender does not matter and every dancer dances individually, without a dance partner.

  • Previous knowledge is not required – line dance is a popular sport that can be learned quickly

  • There is no "dress code" – comfortable clothing and indoor sports shoes are enough to get started.
